We welcome thoughtful pitches and contributions about batik, textiles, craft, clothing, fabric care, and the cultural settings in which cloth matters. A strong proposal is specific, useful, and attentive to context.
What we welcome
Consider a practical explainer, a closely focused cultural essay, a guide to a textile process, or a piece that helps readers understand how cloth is used and cared for. We value original angles and clear writing for readers who may be new to the subject.
Make the pitch concrete
Tell us the central idea, why it belongs with The Cloth Atlas, what the reader will take away, and what sources or experience inform the piece. Note any relevant images, permissions, or commercial interests. A short outline is more useful than a finished draft sent without context.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please do not include confidential material or assume a pitch has been accepted until you hear back.
